Our busy charity shop is a hub for locals and visitors alike, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Shop Manager to help lead the team, drive sales and create a welcoming space where every customer and donor feels valued.
More about the role
Using your experience in retail management and leadership, you will work with our Shop Manager and local community to drive forward sales and source quality fashion, accessories and homeware from donations to regenerate and find a new home! The store needs someone who understands the local community and can work to build a solid customer base and network of generous donors. Your role will also involve supporting recruitment and training of new volunteers, sharing your knowledge of merchandising and providing a quality customer service to both purchasers and donors. You may be a current team leader or supervisor, or an experienced manager looking for a new challenge. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. Your working pattern may change each week, and you may also be required to support additional holiday or sickness cover. Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and occasional extra hours is essential.

- Previous experience of working in a retail environment
- Cash handling and reconciliation experience
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of providing great customer experience
- Computer and administration skills
