Position Details
- Permanent, full‑time, 40 hours per week over five days
- Salary: £41,080 – £55,640 per annum plus £3,954 London Weighting Allowance
- Location: Working across two London sites — SW19 1BD (Merton) / W6 0RQ (Hammersmith)
- Shift pattern: Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm, plus one evening shift per month and one weekend day shift every six weeks (time in lieu)
- Closing date: Sunday 17th May 2026
Responsibilities
Veterinary Surgeons at Blue Cross are exposed to a wide variety of medical, surgical and emergency cases, enabling rapid development of skills and confidence in general practice. You will be part of the evening and weekend rota, shared between vets across our Victoria, Merton and Hammersmith sites, providing competent veterinary care to a diverse patient population. You will also participate in clinical governance discussions and contribute to our award‑winning clinical guidelines.

The range of work our teams carry out goes above and beyond what is offered in first‑opinion private practice, and we provide a high‑quality working environment with facilities including digital X‑ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, multiparameter anaesthetic monitors, and infusion pumps. Many of our vets hold certificates or have special interests and are happy to share their knowledge with you.
