Description: Digital Content Manager – fixed‑term maternity cover (12 months, start 27 July). Lead Blue Cross’ content strategy across web, print and campaigns, ensuring an accessible, friendly and trusted brand voice that drives engagement and donations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, edit and publish diverse content formats across the charity’s web channels.
- Line‑manage and inspire a dedicated content team, guiding high‑quality production.
- Assist with the creation of the print supporter magazine.
- Analyse user journeys and performance metrics to identify new content opportunities and optimise existing pages.
- Maintain exceptional editorial standards across all outputs.
- Develop pet advice, campaign content and stories that increase engagement and actively drive donations.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Deep knowledge of content design, including user research and testing methods.
- Extensive experience writing for the web with proven ability to create accessible, engaging and optimised content.
- Proven experience managing and scheduling content plans in collaboration with other teams.
- Strong analytical skills, using tools to monitor user behaviour, content and campaigns and implement data‑driven changes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong command of English.
- Experience motivating and inspiring direct reports.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience with publishers and suppliers on print publications.
- Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop and HTML.
- Understanding of organising and directing photo shoots.
- Experience commissioning digital content.
- Familiarity and interest in pet care and welfare issues.
- Experience working in the charity sector.
