Blue Cross UK is seeking a Community Project Coordinator (part time). The role supports the Pet Food Bank project and wider community initiatives, working closely with the Community Project Lead to deliver projects that help people and pets.

Compensation: £29,070 / year (14 hr × 18 hrs per week) – £14,920 per annum (FTE £29,010)

Role Overview

As a home‐based coordinator with regional travel, you will oversee day‐to‐day operations of the Pet Food Bank project, manage donations, coordinate volunteers, and liaise with partners. You will also support the planning and delivery of a large‐scale summer event in June 2026, provide administrative support, contribute to reporting, and help communicate project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support day‐to‐day operation and delivery of the Pet Food Bank project and other community initiatives.
  • Coordinate with pet food banks, suppliers, local authorities, community groups, and volunteers.
  • Secure donations of pet food and services, and oversee movement of goods to partners.
  • Liaise with volunteers and colleagues by phone and in person to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Assist with planning and delivering a large‐scale summer event in partnership with corporate partners.
  • Provide administrative support, contribute to reporting, and help deliver communication plans.
  • Act as a Blue Cross ambassador, ensure policies and procedures are followed and support the Community Project Lead as needed.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Strong prioritising, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • IT literate with MS Office and web‐based databases and platforms.
  • Ability to understand and apply Blue Cross values.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience supervising or managing volunteers.
  • Previous charity sector experience.
