I am currently looking to expand my associate pool and would welcome expressions of interest from experienced Food Safety Auditors. I have an upcoming audit programme covering 23 sites across the UK, and I am looking for someone who is confident working independently and able to deliver audits to a consistent and high reporting standard.
The audits are focused on food safety and are typically around 2 hours per site, with a structured reporting format in place to support consistency and efficiency.
About the role:
- Associate or freelance basis
- UK wide travel required
- Audits delivered independently
- Reports expected in a clear and finalised format
Ideal background:
- Environmental Health or strong food safety background
- Minimum 5 years experience in food safety inspections or auditing, with a strong commercial awareness
- Experience of audit delivery across multiple sites
- Strong report writing skills
- Ability to confidently provide a Food Hygiene Rating prediction
- Excellent at assessing risk and applying proportionate, practical judgement
- Commercial awareness and ability to work within a structured programme
This person must produce consistent reports and be adaptable and intuitive.
Essential requirements:
- Fully qualified Environmental Health Officer or suitably qualified Technical Officer
- Meets FSA competency requirements in understanding food safety controls
- Recent experience to reflect knowledge and understanding of the requirements of this position
- Have an understanding of how EHOs complete food Hygiene inspections as part of your audit knowledge
- Minimum of 20 hours food related CPD
- Registered with EHORB or EHRB
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full driving licence

- Insurance to 2 Million
This role would suit someone used to delivering audits independently and producing reports ready for submission without the need for rework. There is also potential for ongoing project based work beyond this initial programme.
