£110k + bens or £500 p/d
Deep basements/new levels above. Sensitive Cut & Carve elements. Complex temporary works. RC superstructure. Logistically tight sites – the usual drill.
Everyone sees the finished building. You know the real story is the structure: the top-down basement next to a listed facade, cut & carve in a building that has to stay standing, and the RC frame going up on a site with no room to move.
My client is a Tier 1 specialist contractor known across London for exactly this kind of work. They need a Project Manager to take full ownership of a major central London scheme.
The project
- £35m scheme from demo through substructure and onto RC superstructure, in Zone 1
- Complex: deep basement, cut & carve to the existing structure, heavy temporary works and a constrained site
- A blue-chip client and a programme that matters
What you’ll do
- Run the job from start to finish: programme, cost, safety, quality and the client relationship
- Lead site managers, engineers, frame gangs and supply chain
- Work closely with temporary works, design and commercial teams
- Be the person the client trusts when the plan changes
What you’ll bring
- PM experience with a specialist RC frame, basement or groundworks contractor in London
- Experience delivering substructure and superstructure, ideally with cut & carve or structural alterations
- Strong understanding of temporary works, sequencing and logistics on tight urban sites
- SMSTS, CSCS and a relevant degree or HNC (chartership is a plus, not a deal-breaker)
- Calm under pressure and confident in front of a main contractor
