The Role
Provide first-line and basic second-line IT support within the organisation including user account administration, password resets, device setup, Microsoft 365 support, software and hardware troubleshooting, printer and peripheral support, and basic network troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st line and basic 2nd line IT support.
- Deal with password resets, account issues and basic access requests.
- Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, software, printers and other IT equipment.
- Software installation and troubleshooting.
- Set up new devices and help users with Microsoft 365 and general IT issues.
- Escalate more complex problems and complete other IT tasks requested by the Senior IT Engineer.
General Responsibilities
- Keep support tickets updated and make sure issues are followed through.
- Keep IT records and documentation up to date where needed.
- Follow IT procedures, security requirements and company policies.
- Help users in a clear and professional way.
- Assist the IT team with day-to-day tasks, equipment setup and projects where required.
Key Skills
- Good basic knowledge of Windows 11, 10 and common business software.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and user accounts.
- Able to troubleshoot common hardware, software and network issues.
- Good communication skills and comfortable helping users.
- Willing to learn new systems and develop further IT skills.
- Awareness of critical compliance areas including UK export control, health & safety and environmental management desirable.
- Experience with defence industry and UK MOD desirable.
