The Team
The Customer Advisory team at our client’s organisation plays a pivotal role in delivering innovative and large-scale customer-centric transformation programmes across various market and industry segments. Their mission is to help clients reinvent their businesses for the digital age. In the Infrastructure, Government, and Healthcare sectors, this role - as a Director - will lead large, often multi-disciplinary teams in managing sales, delivery and fulfilment of client projects. They seek an individual with deep expertise in customer and citizen experience and digital transformation to deliver world-class digital capabilities for UK public sector departments and publicly owned companies. Their programmes drive impactful change within organisations, enabling innovative products and services while transforming them into customer-centric, cost-efficient entities. Successful candidates will collaborate with teams and co-design solutions with broader skillsets. Business development is also a key component of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the cross-functional leadership community of Directors and Partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Lead business development efforts to secure new engagements in the public sector, focusing on customer experience, service excellence, operating models, and digital transformation.
- Work closely with Partners and Directors across service lines to deliver impactful customer solutions, such as Voice of Customer platforms, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or other front-office contact technologies.
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to drive business growth and deliver outstanding client work.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and best practices in customer experience, digital strategy, and technology implementation within the public sector.
- Develop and lead complex transformation programmes triggered by policy, technology, cost, or customer experience considerations.
- Play a significant role in team and practice growth by sharing knowledge and fostering continuous improvement.
The Role
This position is integral to the broader Customer & Operations Advisory team. The successful candidate will:
- Lead customer-related business development activities, including proposal development and presentations, actively market customer solutions in the public sector, and build relationships with client management.
- Oversee the delivery of customer transformation programmes of large size and complexity, ensuring planning, execution, and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Lead large, multi-disciplinary teams, mentor team members, and accelerate their professional growth.
- Enhance the team's capabilities, focusing on scaling customer and digital consulting expertise.
- Identify and manage risks, ensuring engagement assurance and adherence to organisational frameworks.
The base location is flexible, but travel is essential due to the nature of the projects. Our client follows a hybrid working model to meet their clients' requirements for off-site and on-site collaboration.
The Person
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in selling and delivering professional services and a background in transformation consulting within organisations such as system integrators, progressive digital agencies, or leading professional services firms. They should:
- Build credibility and relationships at leadership levels.
- Be comfortable engaging with senior executives on topics like digital transformation, organisational change, customer experience, and service excellence.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of leading large, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Exhibit thought leadership and strong viewpoints to drive business opportunities.
- Achieve sales targets of approximately £1.5m annually as a Director.
