We're looking for a caring, reliable Cook to join our warm and welcoming care home, providing freshly prepared meals for 18 residents each day. If you have a passion for home-style cooking and want to make a real difference in people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a wholesome lunch and tea service that meets the nutritional needs of our residents while offering plenty of variety and comfort.
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, well-balanced meals for up to 18 residents.
- Catering for a range of dietary requirements and preferences.
- Planning simple, varied menus (with support).
- Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
- Working closely with care staff to create a positive mealtime experience.
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Passionate about cooking and providing great food.
- Able to work independently and manage a small kitchen.
- Knowledgeable about (or willing to learn) dementia-friendly and soft-food diets.
- Friendly, organised, and committed to high standards.
- Trained or willing to train in Food Hygiene Level 2 (or higher).
- Experience in a care home or similar setting is helpful but not essential; a caring approach and love for good, honest cooking matter most.
