We are seeking an experienced and motivated Skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Ductwork Fabricator to join our busy workshop team. This is a hands-on role requiring the manufacture of high-quality ductwork from job sheets and technical sketches, ensuring products are completed accurately, efficiently, and ready for delivery on time.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and ductwork manufacturing, be capable of working independently, and take pride in delivering exceptional workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture ductwork from job sheets, drawings, and sketches to required specifications.
Operate workshop machinery safely and effectively in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
Programme and operate the plasma cutting machine from job paperwork and technical sketches.
Manage the plasma cutting process, including:
Loading sheet metal into the machine.
Marking and numbering components.
Removing finished panels and organising them for folding or machining.
Removing and disposing of scrap material appropriately.
Operate seaming machines, RAS folding machines, and other fabrication equipment.
Fabricate ductwork components, including assembling patterns, sealing, and fitting MEZZ frames ready for fixing.
Programme and operate the Straight Making Machine, ensuring finished products are square, accurate, and ready for framing and sealing.
Carry out quality inspections against drawings and specifications to ensure products are true, accurate, and meet company standards.
Minimise material waste and maximise production efficiency.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Coordinate the storage and organisation of projects within the workshop.
Assist with unloading and storing incoming material deliveries.
