Job Description
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development Advisor to join their HR and L&D team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the workforce is skilled, safe, and compliant within a highly regulated operational environment.
Location:
Based at the Thornton-Cleveleys site, with regular travel to the Leyland site (up to two days per week; travel expenses reimbursed).
Working hours:
37.5hrs – Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm
Salary:
Up to £39,873.90
About the Role
As Learning & Development Advisor, you will lead the delivery of training and development across the business, with a strong emphasis on compliance, health & safety, and role-specific external training. You'll manage a small training administration team and ensure effective coordination and monitoring of training activities across both sites.
This is a hands-on role where you'll design and deliver impactful training programs, support career development, and foster a culture of continuous learning. Working closely with HR and operational teams, you'll ensure training initiatives align with business goals and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate training delivery across the organisation.
- Manage training administration and ensure accurate tracking of training records.
- Design and implement learning programs tailored to operational and regulatory needs.
- Support career development and promote continuous learning.
- Collaborate with HR and department leads to align training with strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and industry-specific training requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis and develop targeted learning solutions.
- Coach and support line managers to drive successful learning outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in L&D or training.
- Background in manufacturing, logistics, or waste/environmental services.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of operational and technical training requirements.
- Knowledge of health & safety training and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent coordination and organisational skills.
- Strong administrative and IT skills, including HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of workforce development theory and best practices.
- Experience delivering a range of learning approaches, including digital solutions.
- Track record in designing and implementing engaging training programs.
- Experience in coaching and supporting managers.
- Expertise in training needs analysis and solution development.
