This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Head of HR, offering the chance to become the business's subject matter expert for all payroll-related matters. Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home) Flexible start and finish times 52 days annual leave Subsidised onsite restaurant Staff discount scheme Supportive and collaborative leadership team Opportunity to shape and develop the payroll function The Role As Payroll Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 600 employees across multiple sites. Duties will include: Managing monthly payroll processing from start to finish Processing payroll for both salaried and hourly paid employees Managing overtime, deductions, statutory payments and payroll adjustments Ensuring HMRC compliance and legislative accuracy Processing RTI submissions and year-end activities Managing pension administration and auto-enrolment requirements Reconciling payroll information and producing reports Acting as the key point of contact for payroll queries Working closely with HR and Finance teams Supporting the ongoing implementation and development of payroll systems About You We're keen to hear from candidates who have: End-to-end payroll experience Experience managing complex payrolls involving both salaried and hourly paid employees Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions and HMRC requirements Excellent attention to detail and accuracy A proactive, hands-on approach The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience gained within sectors such as manufacturing, food production, logistics, distribution, hospitality, retail or other operationally focused environments would be highly advantageous.
