Housing Development Officer needed!
50 per hour (to be confirmed)
Head Office, TQ12
Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm
Till August 2026
This appointment is for a period of six months, up to four days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Project management and client oversight of assigned schemes - ensuring they are delivered to time and budget, meeting quality requirements.
- Collaborative working with internal colleagues and elected Members, ensuring a joined-up approach to project delivery.
- Effective liaison with external partners such as consultants, contractors, town and parish councils, Homes England, One Public Estate and Registered Providers.
- Community and stakeholder engagement, as required for project delivery.
- Keep clear and transparent records to ensure continuity of information throughout the project lifespan and for audit purposes.
Skills and qualifications:
- Substantial experience of affordable housing development delivery, including within a Local Authority context.
- Thorough understanding of the housing issues affecting coastal and market towns and rural communities.
- Good knowledge of the residential and construction markets in Devon, and ideally Teignbridge.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
- IT literate, able to use Microsoft 365 products and specialist applications.
