We are currently recruiting 2 Cleansing Operatives to join a busy environmental services team in Brighton (BN1). This is a weekend role, ideal for reliable drivers looking for well-paid, outdoor work supporting local parks and public spaces.
Hours:
- Saturday & Sunday
- 06:00 - 10:00am
Contract:
- Start date: 25th April
- Runs until end of August
- Paid £20.54 per hour
Duties Include:
- Driving and operating a council van to various sites
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting basic maintenance issues
- General cleansing duties across parks and public areas, including:
- Litter picking
- Bin changing
- Sweeping and clearing hazardous items from playgrounds
- Removing weeds, detritus, and fly-tipping
- Following set routes, schedules, and instructions
- Safe and correct waste disposal in line with legislation and council procedures
- Wearing and maintaining PPE at all times
- Maintaining clear communication with supervisors and team members
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Induction:
- 21st, 22nd and 23rd April (attendance required)
