We are currently recruiting for 3 Cleansing Operatives to join a busy environmental services team in Brighton (BN1). This is a morning role, ideal for reliable candidates looking for well-paid, outdoor work supporting local parks and public spaces.
Hours: Monday - Friday 05:00 - 13:00
Contract: Start date: ASAP, Runs until end of June (approx.)
Pay: £13.69 per hour, possibility of overtime at weekends (£20.54)
Duties Include:
- Working across multiple sites and locations
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting basic maintenance issues
- General cleansing duties across parks and public areas, including:
- Litter picking
- Bin changing
- Sweeping and clearing hazardous items from playgrounds
- Removing weeds, detritus, and fly-tipping
Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to walk 7-10 miles per day
- Work flexible hours across the 5 days
- Lift and carry some heavy and awkward shaped loads
- Interact with and assist members of the public
- Remain self-motivated to work hard
Induction: Must be able to attend a 3 day induction for training. This will be paid.
