We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful organisation that employs approximately 600 staff across multiple UK locations. This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Head of HR, offering the chance to become the business's subject matter expert for all payroll-related matters.

The Role
As Payroll Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 600 employees across multiple sites.
Duties will include:
- Managing monthly payroll processing from start to finish
- Processing payroll for both salaried and hourly paid employees
- Managing overtime, deductions, statutory payments and payroll adjustments
- Ensuring HMRC compliance and legislative accuracy
- Processing RTI submissions and year-end activities
- Managing pension administration and auto-enrolment requirements
- Reconciling payroll information and producing reports
- Acting as the key point of contact for payroll queries
- Working closely with HR and Finance teams
- Supporting the ongoing implementation and development of payroll systems
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- End-to-end payroll experience
- Experience managing complex payrolls involving both salaried and hourly paid employees
- Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions and HMRC requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience gained within sectors such as manufacturing, food production, logistics, distribution, hospitality, retail or other operationally focused environments would be highly advantageous.
