Class 2 Drivers – New Passes Welcome – £45k+ per ye
Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting LGV 2 / Class 2 drivers to work for one of the UK\’s leading retailers based in Avonmouth in Bristol. The roles are temp to perm – after 12 weeks you will be offered a permanent contract directly with the client. The client is happy to accept newly qualified drivers and provide you with all the necessary training to help you build your confidence and experience. We had new passes attending assessments who were very nervous, our client saw a lot of potential in these candidates though and put a plan in place on how to make these drivers more confident and provided them with all the necessary support – not many companies can offer this!
All drivers will have to pass a drug and alcohol test (and be happy to be re-tested occasionally) and also undergo a Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance. The company has a strict anti drugs and alcohol policy and conduct random drug and alcohol tests for 2-3 staff every day.
The start times for the roles will be between 4am-6am and you will be completing around 50 hours per week on average. The roles are Monday to Friday only – no weekend work will be involved.
The pay rate is £17.00 per hour. The starting annual salary once you get the contract will be £42,432 + overtime + quarterly bonuses, bringing your total annual earnings just over £45k.
Please note that the roles are very physical and 60% of your day will be spent loading and unloading the products. You will be working with a drivers mate or another driver at all times.

As a Class 2 delivery driver, your duties will include:
- Completing up to 5 deliveries daily
- Manual loading and unloading – extensive training will be provided
- Completing relevant paperwork
- Using PODs
Candidate requirements:
- Category C driving licence, up to date CPC and Digi Tacho cards
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence and only for minor offences
- CSCS card would be beneficial
- Physical fitness
- Reliability and trustworthiness
- Good customer service skills and willingness to represent client\’s values
- Good level of spoken English
All drivers will need to pass a driving assessment (theory and practical test as well as a drug & alcohol test) and complete 1 week\’s worth of training (mainly manual handling and safe lifting practices) before starting to drive yourself.
