- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 2:30pm

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on finance professional to join our team, taking over from a long-standing member of staff who is retiring. This is a key role within the business, with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and ownership of core processes. This role is fully office-based and would suit someone who enjoys being embedded in the business, working closely with colleagues, and taking full ownership. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, leading the finance tasks rather than supporting someone else, while also being happy to carry out the detailed daily processing that keeps the business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Running weekly payroll, including tracking holidays and absences
- Managing the purchase ledger, including:
- Checking and entering invoices
- Resolving supplier queries
- Making supplier payments
- Quarterly accruals and prepayments
- Month-end processing
- Daily bank reconciliations
About You
- Proven experience in a responsible finance role
- Strong working knowledge of VAT and payroll
- Comfortable owning finance processes end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and well organised
- Happy to combine responsibility with hands-on transactional work
- Experience with accounting software and Excel (specific systems a plus)
