Blue Arrow are recruiting for senior leaders for a popular summer scheme across the Antrim, Newtownabbey area through July-August. As a senior leader you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and managing a balanced summer scheme programme for a range of young people of varying interests and abilities, in conjunction with the Summer Scheme Co-ordinator.
Your main responsibilities:
- Manage and train members of staff and volunteers, both within the scheme and during out of centre activities.
- Manage attendees whilst on site and during out of centre activities.
- Assist the relevant Scheme Co-ordinator in the monitoring and management of the scheme budget.
- Registration of children, and the collection and recording of monies.
- Comply with and ensure that the summer scheme leaders comply with the Council's Policies and procedures, including those relating to health and safety, well-being and safeguarding and equal opportunities.
- Promote equality and diversity through clear leadership and by demonstrating appropriate behaviours in line with Council values.
- Provide a high level of customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and where appropriate forward these to the relevant Scheme Co-ordinator for resolution.
- Maintain, manage, and monitor a system for Summer Scheme comments and complaints.
- Any other duties as requested by the relevant Scheme Co-ordinator.
You will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' recent experience leading and working with children and young people.
- Hold a recognised sports coaching qualification and/or have proven experience of organising a range of indoor and outdoor activities for children and young people.
- A full current driving licence and first aid qualification would be advantageous.
Please note as this post involves the supervision of children you must be 18 & an Enhanced Access NI check will be required.
