We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to join our clients Premises Team on a Temporary 3 month booking. Candidates will need to have a clear Enhanced DBS, or be willing to pay and complete one.

Reporting to the Premises Manager and supporting the Bursar, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, upkeep, and presentation of the school buildings and grounds. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times
  • Conduct regular inspections and report health & safety or maintenance issues
  • Carry out light DIY tasks, including decorating and minor repairs
  • Support the setup and cleaning of the school hall for various uses
  • Undertake cleaning duties, including periodic deep cleans
  • Assist with furniture and equipment moves, deliveries, and porterage
  • Act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs
  • Liaise with external users and support school events and lettings
  • Operate and maintain premises equipment
  • Act as a Fire Marshall and support parking supervision when required
Person Specification
  • Awareness of health & safety, security, and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and external visitors
  • High standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
