In the absence of the Assistant Director of Events, assume overall responsibility for the Events Department. Assist the Assistant Director of Events in weekly revenue forecast, and assist in the preparation of the annual budget & sales & marketing plan. Attend the weekly Revenue Meeting in the absence of the Event Manager. Monitor billing process & package allowances in Opera. Manage the departmental rota and assist with monitoring lieu & holiday. Monitor a share of the events and strategize workload for each department member.

Work closely with the Events and Group Sales Team in negotiating for business, including hotel site inspections and the entertainment of clients, travel agents etc. Be responsible for the communication of all Event and Group activity to the front line team, through the distribution of timely and detailed Banqueting Event Orders, memos, group summaries. Actively promote and up-sell the services and facilities available to guests within the hotel, promoting profitable revenue from other outlets (e.g. restaurants, spa, polo, valet etc).

Develop and manage complex event and group projects, including marquee functions. Handle events specific guest complaints, resolve challenges and ensure guest engagement. Manage regular accounts proactively, while working closely with sales to increase revenue streams from existing clients. Maintain good knowledge of rooms and events space occupancy, and observe efficient diary management practices in order to maximise revenues. Understand all local competitors and conduct regular competitor analysis to understand the current market. Highly computer literate.
