A popular independent garden centre is seeking to appoint a Front of House Manager to lead a team of 20+ and continue the site's reputation for catering excellence!
Key Info:
- Salary: From £32,500
- Hours: Permanent, Full Time (Rotated Shift pattern - alternate weekends)
- Location: Thetford, Norfolk

Purpose:
- To manage the efficient running of the catering offer on a day-to-day basis
- To drive the sales and profitability of catering ensuring financial budgets are achieved
- To evolve and develop the catering offer to a market leading position
- To ensure the agreed standards are always maintained
- To work closely with Head Chef to achieve the efficient running of the catering offer on a day-to-day basis
Role and Responsibilities:
- To assist developing, documenting, agreeing, and implementing the catering strategy
- To proactively serve and help customers in need of assistance, resolving queries/complaints
- To ensure service times are acceptable with excellent food served every time
- To ensure high levels of hospitality at all times
- To manage customer reviews/comments online and in store
- To ensure food and wages costs are within the agreed budget
- To drive the marketing and events of the department
- To ensure the agreed procedures for Food Safety are carried out
- To provide the team with the guidance and priorities for the business
- To coach and develop the team to deliver the required results
- To manage the team on a day-to-day basis including their motivation and morale
- To manage the induction process for catering working closely with the Operations Manager
- To hold regular meetings with the team to improve performance
- To oversee the management of the catering till operations, including scanning accuracy
- To manage all catering goods in, booking in and invoice balancing working closely with the Supply Chain & Stock Control manager
Requirements:
- Experience as a Front of House Manager in a similar venue
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Passionate about food
- Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take operation to the next level
