We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead facilities operations at a large leisure site on the Isle of Wight. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the site is safe, clean, compliant, and well-maintained, while delivering a positive experience for guests and colleagues.
Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager and working closely with the General Manager, you will oversee maintenance, housekeeping, contractors, and statutory compliance, while creating a strong, motivated facilities team.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Experience & Site Standards
- Maintain excellent standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation across the site
- Ensure guest accommodation, buildings, and grounds are maintained to a high standard
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries, issues, and feedback
- Coordinate maintenance works with minimal disruption to guests
- Ensure activity and leisure facilities are safe, compliant, and ready for use
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety requirements, and internal policies
- Carry out regular site inspections to identify and resolve risks
- Maintain accurate documentation, certifications, and audit records
- Support legal, safety, and environmental standards across the site
- Team Leadership & Operations
- Line manage facilities, maintenance, housekeeping teams, and on-site contractors
- Build a positive team culture focused on quality, safety, and teamwork
- Organise rotas, daily inspections, housekeeping schedules, and deep cleaning programmes
- Hold regular 1:1 meetings to support performance, wellbeing, and development
- Planning, Budgets & Collaboration
- Manage CapEx and OpEx budgets with strong cost control
- Coordinate procurement of equipment and supplies
- Report performance and site issues to the Regional Facilities Manager
- Support emergency planning, centre projects, and senior leadership activity
- Proven experience in facilities, estates, or building management
- Confident managing teams and external contractors
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety and compliance
- Practical, organised, and solution-focused
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, guest-facing leisure environment
- Flexible and adaptable to operational change
