The Role

As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the kitchen, delivering consistent, well-balanced meals that meet school food standards and dietary requirements. You will lead and motivate a small catering team while ensuring the highest levels of food safety and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff
  • Managing kitchen operations, including stock control and ordering
  • Leading, training, and supervising kitchen staff
  • Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and school food standards
  • Managing allergens and special dietary requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef, ideally within education or contract catering
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Level 2 (or above) Food Safety Certificate
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one with Blue Arrow support)
  • A passion for quality food and positive teamwork
