The Role
As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the kitchen, delivering consistent, well-balanced meals that meet school food standards and dietary requirements. You'll lead and motivate a small catering team while ensuring the highest levels of food safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff
- Managing kitchen operations, including stock control and ordering
- Leading, training, and supervising kitchen staff
- Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and school food standards
- Managing allergens and special dietary requirements
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef, ideally within education or contract catering
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Level 2 (or above) Food Safety Certificate
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one with Blue Arrow support)
- A passion for quality food and positive teamwork
