The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen and supporting the delivery of consistently high culinary standards. This is a varied operation, combining Michelin-level dining with banqueting, events, brasserie service, afternoon tea, and room service, so versatility and composure under pressure are key. Over time, the successful candidate will become the operational lead during service, allowing the Executive Chef to focus more widely on the wider estate and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities

- Act as the senior point of contact in the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Mentor and develop Sous Chefs, Chef de Parties, Demi and Commis Chefs
- Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen compliance
- Support menu development, seasonal changes, and dish refinement
- Manage ordering, stock control, supplier relationships, and waste reduction
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and development-focused kitchen culture
About You
- Strong experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality environment
- Michelin or multi-rosette background is highly desirable
- Comfortable leading service and managing a diverse, professional brigade
- Calm, organised, and solutions-focused under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ambitious and ready to take the next step in a senior kitchen role
- Exceptional candidates who are stepping up and show maturity, drive, and clear leadership potential will also be considered.
Package and Working Pattern
- Full time, permanent position 48 hours per week, working 5 shifts out of 7
- Competitive salary (circa high-40s) plus service charge
- Comprehensive benefits package including meals on duty and wellbeing support
- Strong progression opportunities within a wider hospitality group
- Live-in accommodation may be available for up to six months only, to support relocation where required.
Why Apply
This is an opportunity to join a kitchen that values excellence, creativity, and development. You will work alongside a highly regarded Executive Chef, gain exposure to Michelin-level standards across multiple outlets, and play a key role in shaping the future of the operation.
