Blue Arrow are recruiting for a Warehouse Cleaner to work at a large distribution site based in Knottingley (near Wakefield), WF11.

Core Cleaning Responsibilities

  • Floor care: Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing warehouse floors to keep them free of dust, debris, and spills.
  • Trash removal: Emptying bins, replacing liners, and disposing of waste in designated areas.
  • Restroom cleaning: Sanitizing toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
  • Breakroom & office areas: Wiping tables, counters, microwaves, refrigerators, and ensuring common areas are tidy.
  • Dusting & surface cleaning: Removing dust from shelves, ledges, and equipment surfaces.

Health & Safety Duties

  • Sanitization: Disinfecting high-touch surfaces like door handles, railings, and shared equipment.
  • Spill response: Quickly cleaning up spills to prevent accidents and maintain safety standards.
  • Hazard handling: Following proper procedures for cleaning chemical spills or hazardous materials.
  • PPE use: Wearing gloves, masks, or other protective gear as required.

Warehouse-Specific Tasks

  • Dock & storage area cleaning: Keeping loading docks, pallet areas, and storage zones clear of debris.
  • Equipment cleaning: Wiping down forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor belts when required.
  • Recycling management: Sorting and disposing of cardboard, plastics, and other recyclable materials.
  • Deep cleaning projects: Periodic intensive cleaning of larger areas or machinery.

General Expectations

  • Work independently while following safety guidelines and cleanliness standards.
  • Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks) to supervisors.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and request restocks when needed.
  • Adhere to strict schedules to minimize disruption to warehouse operations.

We have the following shifts available:

  • 4 on 2 off 10pm - 6am - £12.71 per hour
  • 4 on 2 off 6am - 2pm - £12.21 per hour

Due to the above shift patterns, candidates need to be prepared to work some weekends. Ongoing work. You must be able to pass a DBS check prior to starting - this is paid for by the company.
