Job responsibilities
- Help maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment
- Clean kitchens, associated areas, refrigerators, and food stores to required standards
- Carry out deep cleaning of floors, wall surfaces, and catering equipment (e.g., fryers, ovens, bain-maries)
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, and crockery used by staff and patients
- Deliver patient meals, ensuring food is transported safely and on time
- Working across two outlets in Harrogate and provide a delivery service to Ripon Hospital
- Unload and unpack deliveries, ensuring correct storage and stock rotation
- Ensure food waste is disposed of correctly and stored in the designated outside location
Requirements
- Previous kitchen porter experience
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification (training given if required)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
- Able to follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
- Flexible and committed to providing excellent support to patients and staff
- Able to pass full compliance checks: 3 years' work referencing, proof of current address, enhanced DBS (child and adult barring), online training modules (up to 6 hours)
