We are currently seeking an experienced Technician Plumber to join a busy Estates team within a hospital environment in the Lanarkshire area. This temporary role offers the opportunity to work in a critical healthcare setting, ensuring essential water and mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing and mechanical systems
- Respond to reactive repairs, including leaks, blockages, and system failures
- Undertake minor installation work as required
- Ensure all water, drainage, and associated systems remain safe, compliant, and operational
- Accurately record all maintenance activities using electronic systems
- Work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to minimise disruption
- Escalate complex or major issues to the Estates Supervisor
- Adhere to all health & safety policies, permit-to-work systems, and infection control protocols
- Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices in clinical environments
- Respond promptly and effectively to plumbing emergencies
About You
- Proven experience as a plumber, ideally within a commercial or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of water systems, drainage, and maintenance processes
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when working around clinical teams
- Awareness of health & safety and infection control procedures
- PVG Disclosure (or willingness to obtain)
