We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Site Officer to join a busy and supportive school trust. This is an immediate start, ongoing temporary position – perfect for someone reliable, practical, and proud of keeping environments safe, clean, and running smoothly.
The Role
- General maintenance, caretaking and reactive repairs
- Opening/closing sites and managing site security & alarms
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating tasks
- Grounds maintenance (grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing pathways)
- Supporting deliveries and moving furniture
- Responding to urgent issues and occasional out-of-hours emergencies
- Travelling between sites to support where needed
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a caretaker / maintenance / handyman role
- Practical skills across basic trades (plumbing, carpentry, decorating)
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Able to work independently and prioritise workload
- Strong communication and reliability
- Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle - essential
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) - essential
Bonus Experience (Desirable)
- Experience working within a school or education setting
- Formal trade qualifications (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
