We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join a busy and supportive school trust. This is an immediate start, ongoing position, ideal for someone practical, reliable, and experienced in general maintenance work.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and well-presented for staff and students.
  • Duties will include:
    • Carrying out general maintenance and reactive repairs
    • Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
    • Supporting site security, including opening/closing and alarm checks
    • Grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming and clearing pathways
    • Assisting with deliveries, moving furniture and room setups
    • Responding to urgent maintenance issues and occasional out-of-hours call-outs
    • Travelling between sites as required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman or facilities role
  • Strong practical skills across general trades
  • Good understanding of health and safety
  • Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  • Reliable, proactive and takes pride in maintaining high standards
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle - essential
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) - essential

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or similar environment
  • Relevant trade qualifications (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
