Assistant Hospitality Operations Manager
on behalf of a prestigious client in the Glasgow area. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong operational experience to join a dynamic and fast-paced catering and events environment. Temporary initially, with the potential for a permanent opportunity beyond Christmas The Role Working closely with the Hospitality Operations Management team, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering and hospitality services across multiple venues. You will assist in leading a team of more than 20 staff, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained while supporting the successful delivery of conferences, corporate events, VIP functions, weddings and formal dinners. Key Responsibilities Support the operational delivery of hospitality and catering services across a range of events and venues. Assist in planning and implementing catering operations for conferences, events and delivered catering services. Provide line management support to supervisors and operational teams. Monitor service standards and ensure excellent customer experiences are consistently delivered. Assist with staff scheduling, payroll administration, stock control and purchasing. Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, health and safety requirements, COSHH regulations and company policies. Support recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of team members. Assist with performance management, absence management and annual review processes. Work closely with catering management, chefs, supervisors, clients and external stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery. Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and operating procedures. Deputise for senior management where required. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience within hospitality, catering, events or conference operations management. Strong organisational and task management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience supervising or managing hospitality teams. A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to perform effectively in a busy operational environment. A strong understanding of customer service excellence. Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and hospitality industry best practices. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with business requirements.
