Blue Arrow are currently working with a large public sector organisation for the requirement of 2 x Health and Safety Advisors based in and around the outskirts of Glasgow. You will be working across a number of departments so there will be high level of variety within these positions. Both roles are on a permanent basis, with interviews and start dates to commence ASAP. Salary: £39,000 to £44,500 Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Location: Office / WFH / On-site based Key Skills and Experience Required :- Developing and implementing a compliant health and safety management system Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical applications Managing health and safety in the construction and/or utility sectors Practical application of knowledge across the key areas of the role: production of risk assessments and method statements, COSHH assessments, incident and accident investigation, undertake inspections and audits, communicate statutory requirements to line managers Education Hold or be working towards NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ equivalent or Graduate Member of IOSH or (member, graduate) of a related professional institute e.g. IEMA, IIRSM or Degree in Health & Safety or BSc degree in a related subject and, where applicable, working towards vocational qualifications e.g NEBOSH or IOSH Key Duties Contribute to addressing the impact of work on health and of health on work to ensure and facilitate the prevention of accidents and promotion of health and safety Support the Health and Safety Manager and ensure that the service provision conforms to recognised Health & Safety good practice guidance Take a lead role in the monitoring, reporting and reviewing of Health and Safety standards and that stakeholders are advised on levels of compliance with statutory requirements reporting this to the appropriate bodies Proactively contribute to the ongoing review and development of the Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure these are appropriate and in accordance with relevant legislation Implement a programme of working that provides Health & Safety advice, solutions, and coaching to ensure that managers and responsible officers are aware of their responsibilities to Health and Safety and can demonstrate compliance Support the performance of the Health and Safety Team through a culture of team work and flexibility, contributing to the overall success Work to continuously improve service delivery and performance of the Health and Safety Team Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
