Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for an Injection Moulding Setter for their reputable client based in Coatbridge. This is a permanent role directly with a company from day one with immediate start possible after successful interview.
Working days/hours: 4 weeks Day Shift (Mon to Thu 8am to 4.25pm, Fri 8am to 3.25pm) followed by 2 weeks Back Shift (Mon to Wed 11.25am to 9.55pm, Thu 12.25pm to 9.55pm)
Pay rate: Day Shift: Β£17-Β£18ph DOE Back Shift: Β£20.40-Β£21.60ph DOE
Overall Purpose of the role: To ensure various injection moulding machines are running at peak efficiency and producing quality product by way of installing / setting and processing production moulds and materials, or any associated equipment to achieve best optimised process.
Injection Moulding Setter Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety matters as outlined in Company Handbook
- Ensure all procedures are followed as outlined in Company Handbook
- Ensure all moulds are set as per daily production sheet
- Assist in maintaining cavitation and achieving best optimised cycle time as per production sheet
- Assist in carrying out tooling trials with documentation of all relevant points
- To undertake any associated training with implementation once learned
- Maintain acceptable performance levels
- Share knowledge within the department, especially with the mentoring of department apprentices
- To assist tooling co-ordinator in identification and assessment of moulds in his absence
- Become a Key point of contact for other departments with regards to mould or processing issues
- To highlight any possible improvements and assist in the implementation of such
- To ensure all machines once set, are left in a tidy manner with cushion monitoring activated
- To return all equipment to identified areas
- To approach all tasks with a Right First-Time mentality - identifying root cause issues
- To attend toolmakers if required
- Display a flexible approach towards company overtime should the business needs dictate
- Assist sister plants should the business needs dictate
- To assist Maintenance department on issues concerning moulds / machines / equipment or materials.
Skills/experience required:
- Good problem solver with an analytical approach to tasks
- Good timekeeper who understands the business needs within key departments
- Able to work as an individual or part of a multi-functional team
- Good hand/eye co-ordination with an attention to detail approach
- Capable of setting, processing, and troubleshooting various injection moulding machines
- Parts / products knowledge
- Materials knowledge
- Various processing techniques
- Quality standards required for each part as per machine
- Quality standards sheet B.P.T.A / G & A / City & Guilds / College experience
- Knowledge of identifying, stripping and building of the injection mould parts up to full assembly
