Job Description Sous Chef - Hotel & Events Venue\n \n Location: Lingfield, Surrey \n Job Type: Permanent \n Hours: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required. \n \nThe Opportunity\n \n We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established hotel and events venue for an experienced and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. \n Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food across multiple dining outlets, events, banqueting functions, and hospitality services. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced and diverse hospitality environment. \n \nKey Responsibilities\n \n \n Support the Head Chef in the smooth running of all kitchen operations. \n Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency standards. \n Assist with menu planning and development, ensuring dishes reflect current food trends and customer expectations. \n Control food costs, stock levels, waste, and portion sizes to achieve budgetary targets. \n Conduct and support stock takes and inventory management. \n Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are consistently met. \n Monitor food production from preparation through to service, maintaining quality control at every stage. \n Support the delivery of banqueting, events, restaurant, and hospitality services. \n Lead, motivate, and develop kitchen team members through training and coaching. \n Assist with staff scheduling and workload planning to meet business demands. \n Foster strong communication and collaboration between the kitchen and other departments. \n Support audits, inspections, and compliance processes as required. \n \nEssential Requirements\n \n \n Previous experience as a Sous Chef, or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up. \n Level 2 Food Safety qualification (or equivalent). \n Strong understanding of food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety regulations. \n Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen environment. \n Passion for food, quality, and continuous improvement. \n \n \nDesirable\n \n \n Experience within a hotel, multi-outlet, or high-volume hospitality environment. \n Banqueting and events catering experience. \n Experience managing stock control, food costing, and kitchen budgets. \n \n \n Permanent full-time position. \n Opportunity to work within a prestigious hospitality and events environment. \n Career development and training opportunities. \n Competitive salary and benefits package. \n \n If you're an ambitious Sous Chef looking for a new challenge in a dynamic hospitality setting, we'd love to hear from you. n Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people. \
