We are looking for a caring, reliable Cook to join our warm and welcoming care home, providing freshly prepared meals for 18 residents each day. If you have a passion for home-style cooking and want to make a real difference in people's lives, we would love to hear from you.
You will be responsible for delivering a wholesome lunch and tea service that meets the nutritional needs of our residents while offering plenty of variety and comfort. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, well-balanced meals for up to 18 residents
- Catering for a range of dietary requirements and preferences
- Planning simple, varied menus (with support)
- Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
- Working closely with care staff to create a positive mealtime experience
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies as needed
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about cooking and providing great food
- Able to work independently and manage a small kitchen
- Knowledgeable about (or willing to learn) dementia-friendly and soft-food diets
- Friendly, organised, and committed to high standards
- Trained or willing to train in Food Hygiene Level 2 (or higher)
