About Our Client
This is a leading UK supplier of high-quality temporary and modular buildings. We design and deliver bespoke solutions for a wide range of customers, including schools requiring additional classrooms, commercial organisations needing office space, and construction sites requiring fully serviced office and welfare facilities.
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Generator Fitter to support the maintenance, servicing and preparation of our generator fleet and building units. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and servicing generators ranging from 25-100 kVA (up to 117 kVA)
- Maximising generator availability and reliability for hire
- Supporting depot operations, including preparation of buildings for delivery
- Carrying out installation, repair and adjustment of:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing and welfare units
- General fixtures and fittings within modular buildings
This is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires a practical mindset and a strong work ethic.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Generator Engineer / Fitter or in a closely related field
- Experience maintaining and servicing generators (industrial or commercial)
- Practical trade experience in electrics, plumbing, joinery or general maintenance
- A strong understanding of safe working practices
- Good timekeeping, reliability and attention to detail
Please note: This role involves physical work and outdoor duties, so you must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Pay, Probation & Progression
Starting salary of £40,000 per annum
6-month probation period
Merit pay increase of £1-£2 per hour available post-probation
Merit increases are performance-based and assessed on:
- Attendance and sickness record
- Quality of work
- Timekeeping
- Housekeeping and general standards
