Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting Class 2 drivers to work for one of the UK\’s market leading retailers to work from their depot in Avonmouth in Bristol. The roles are temp to perm – after 12 weeks you will be offered a permanent contract directly with the client. The client is happy to accept newly qualified drivers so it\’s a great opportunity to build your experience and work for a company that will look after you and invest in your progression.
All drivers will have to pass a driving assessment, complete a drug and alcohol test (and be happy to be re-tested occasionally) and also undergo a Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance. The company has a strict anti drugs and alcohol policy and conduct random drug and alcohol tests for 2-3 staff every day.
The start times for the roles will be between 4am-6am and you will be completing around 50 hours per week on average. The roles are Monday to Friday only – no weekend work will be involved.
The pay rate is £17.00 per hour. The starting annual salary once you get the contract will be £42,432 + overtime + quarterly bonuses.
Please note that the roles are very physical and 60% of your day will be spent loading and unloading the products. You will be working with a drivers mate at all times.
As a Class 2 delivery driver, your duties will include:
- Completing up to 5 deliveries daily
- Manual loading and unloading – extensive training will be provided
- Completing relevant paperwork
- Using PODs
- Providing excellent customer service
Candidate requirements:
- Category C driving licence, up to date CPC and Digi Tacho cards
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence and only for minor offences
- Physical fitness
- Reliability and trustworthiness
- Good customer service skills and willingness to represent client\’s values
- Good level of spoken English
All drivers will need to pass a driving assessment (theory and practical test as well as a drug & alcohol test) and complete 1 week\’s worth of training (mainly manual handling and safe lifting practices) before starting to drive yourself.
