Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to work for an established, growing business in the Blackpool area.
Maintenance Engineer salary: 36k - 40k per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)
Working hours: 8:00am - 16:30pm Monday - Friday
Maintenance Engineer Roles and responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance work on production machinery, mechanical systems, and utilities.
- Recognise breakdowns and carry out repairs promptly to reduce downtime.
- Manage tool room operations, including the issuance, repair, storage, and tracking of tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Operate machine tools (e.g., lathe, milling machine, surface grinder) to support repairs and fabrication needs.
- Ensure calibration of tools and measuring instruments is up to date.
- Keep maintenance and your workspace organized, using spreadsheets and maintenance management system software.
- Assist in machine installation, setup, and modification projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with both general maintenance tasks and tool room equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work under own initiative.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a small team and willing to pitch in across departments when needed.
