We are recruiting experienced and enthusiastic School Chefs to support busy school kitchens across Blackpool and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled chefs who are passionate about producing healthy, nutritious meals for children in a welcoming school environment.
As a School Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the smooth running of daily service:
- Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff
- Planning daily menus in line with school guidelines and dietary needs
- Managing food preparation, portion control and presentation
- Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards (including allergens) are met
- Maintaining a clean and well‑organised kitchen
- Monitoring stock levels, ordering ingredients and managing food waste
- Leading and supporting the catering team during service
Requirements:
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Previous experience as a Chef, Cook or similar catering role
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and safety regulations
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting children's wellbeing
- Must be available Monday to Friday during school hours
