Putting customer needs at the heart of what you do, you will manage and support operations across all departments, ensuring goods reach their destinations safely, on time and in the most cost-effective way. You will manage the department KPIs and maintain and build excellent relationships internally and externally. You will have a proven track record of creating and maintaining high standards, preferably in the transport industry.
Responsibilities:
- Planning for both short-term and long-term requirements to ensure business continuity and addressing gaps in both people and assets.
- Ensuring customer requirements are understood and carried out in a timely, controlled and recorded manner within the transport operation.
- Reviewing opportunities for new business and managing and developing these opportunities to realisation.
- Ensuring effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources at all times.
- Being proactive in achieving improved fuel efficiency and better MPG, as supported by efficient transport operations.
- Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Ensuring transport planning operations are in line with budgeted costs and achieve all contractual KPIs.
- Preparing and submitting various KPI reports and reporting to the company senior management.
- Working with the maintenance department to ensure all fleet assets are maintained and serviced in line with planned schedules.
