We are seeking an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP). The role involves a wide range of clerical, administrative, secretarial, and customer-service tasks, along with occasional reception cover and general support across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update PCSP funding databases, including Small Grants and Department of Justice programmes.
  • Provide word processing, typing, filing, and general administrative support.
  • Assist with maintaining office systems and process purchase orders in line with company procedures.
  • Administer PCSP meetings - collating reports, distributing papers, arranging rooms, and organising catering.
  • Manage the confidential PCSP 4-Tier Home Security Scheme including referrals, contractor liaison, invoicing, updates, and monthly reporting.
  • Liaise with Elected and Independent Members, external agencies, and the public to organise meetings and respond to enquiries.
  • Support Corporate Services reception with telephone and front-of-house duties.
  • Prepare letters for community groups and assist with external meeting setup.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and legislation.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications: Five GCSEs (A-C) including English or NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or equivalent), and RSA/OCR Stage 2 Word Processing or Pitman Intermediate Typewriting OR Four years' relevant office experience if the above qualifications are not held.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in an office environment, including regular word-processing.
