We are seeking an experienced and dependable Temporary Agency Chef to support our catering operation in Peterhead for a fixed two-month period from July 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards. This role is ideal for a flexible, skilled chef who can adapt quickly to an established kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present meals to a consistently high standard
- Work from set menus while accommodating dietary requirements and allergen controls
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness in line with HACCP and Food Standards Scotland guidelines
- Ensure correct food storage, stock rotation, and portion control
- Work effectively as part of an existing catering team
- Follow all health & safety procedures and organisational policies
- Assist with basic kitchen administration as required (e.g. temperature checks, cleaning records)
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Chef (e.g. Chef de Partie, Cook, or similar role)
- Current Food Safety and Hygiene certification (Level 2 minimum)
- Strong knowledge of allergens and dietary compliance
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience working in temporary or agency chef roles
- Previous experience in contract catering, healthcare, education, or hospitality environments
- Local knowledge of Peterhead or ability to commute reliably
Working Hours
Hours to be agreed (may include weekends or shift work depending on service requirements)
