A great opportunity to join this growing, innovative global retailer on an 18 month contract basis. Reporting into the indirect tax lead and managing a small team, this role plays a key part in ensuring robust indirect tax compliance, supporting the business through ongoing operational and legislative change, and providing expert VAT advice across the organisation.
Specifically this will include:
- Managing indirect tax compliance obligations across multiple European jurisdictions, including VAT return preparation and review.
- Effectively managing a team providing clear guidance on tasks, supporting through challenges and actively engaging in development conversations.
- Acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, advising on VAT implications of business initiatives, projects and transactions.
- Monitoring indirect tax legislative changes and assessing the impact on the business.
- Supporting VAT audits and enquiries from tax authorities.
- Proactively identifying and implementing opportunities for improving the businesses overall VAT liability and cash flow.
To apply you will need strong European VAT technical knowledge, proven people management skills in a fast-paced environment and the ability to build genuine, authentic relationships with colleagues at all levels of an organisation. Retail experience and working knowledge of Oracle is desirable but not essential. The role is based out of their Hertfordshire offices on a hybrid (3 days a week).
