A new opportunity has arisen to join a Big 4 firm, working as part of a large team of Trade & Customs specialists located across the UK supporting a national portfolio of clients with a variety of Trade & Customs issues. The team offers a wide range of services including customs advisory, compliance reviews, training support and preparation of duty reclaims.
As a key member of the team you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality customs and international trade advice for clients in line with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and other local tax jurisdiction rules.
- Taking a lead to develop and maintain strong client relationships for those clients you are responsible for.
- Developing innovative solutions for clients including identifying Customs Duty risks and opportunities.
- Managing the finances, including developing and managing project budgets and billing to ensure profitable delivery of client engagements.
- Managing some of the team’s business development and marketing initiatives.
- Coaching and developing junior team members from both a technical and commercial perspective.
- Working closely with directors and partners who will provide you with the support and opportunities to assist you in realising your full potential.
- Linking closely with specialist colleagues in International Tax, Transfer pricing and Indirect Tax (VAT) where necessary.
To apply you will need to have significant relevant Trade and Customs experience, including some experience gained in a consulting/professional services firm environment. You will need to communicate with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear. The ability to identify and pursue business opportunities and take an active role in coaching more junior staff will also be key.
