Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3 or above) to join our warm and welcoming team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in a nursery or early years setting and will bring a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide High-Quality Care and Education:
  • Deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences for children, ensuring that they are appropriately challenged and supported in their development.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment where children feel secure and valued.
  • Help children with their emotional, social, and developmental needs, guiding them through their early years milestones.
  • Create a Safe and Stimulating Environment:
  • Set up and maintain age-appropriate learning resources and activities in the nursery rooms.
  • Ensure that the physical environment is safe, tidy, and conducive to learning.
  • Actively supervise and engage with children during playtime, group activities, and individual learning sessions.
  • Support Individual Learning and Development:
  • Observe and monitor children\’s progress, keeping detailed records in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Plan and implement activities that are tailored to individual children\’s needs and interests, supporting their development in all key areas.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the learning and development of each child.
  • Effective Communication with Parents and Colleagues:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, updating them regularly on their child\’s progress and development.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure consistent care and delivery of high-quality education.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure Well-Being and Happiness:
  • Promote the well-being of all children in your care, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and developmental needs are met.
  • Offer reassurance and encouragement to children, helping them build confidence and social skills.
  • Be a positive role model for the children and your colleagues.
  • Leadership and Teamwork (when required):
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and take initiative when required, supporting less experienced team members and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications:
  • MUST HAVE NVQ Level 2, Level 3, or T Level in Early Years Education (or equivalent qualification).
  • First Aid and Food Safety in Catering certifications are desirable, or willingness to obtain.
  • A clear DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
  • Experience:
  • At least one year of experience working in a nursery or early years setting is required.
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS and how to implement it effectively in day-to-day activities.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential.
  • A warm, friendly, and approachable personality with excellent communication skills.
  • A sense of humor and the ability to have fun while supporting children\’s learning.
