The role is a Permanent, Full-Time only role, Monday to Friday: (08:30am β 17:00pm).
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher, with an interest in teaching a range of subjects, to join our KS3 (Yr7/8) team, supporting children who have speech and language and communication difficulties.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a modified curriculum, based on the National Curriculum, to pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties. The teacher will be expected to teach a class of approximately 8 pupils, working alongside a team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Arts Therapists and Learning Support Assistants.
Supporting our students can sometimes be challenging; mental and physical resilience are qualities necessary for all our staff.
- Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
- The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.
- Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children with SLCN.
- Proven ability to cope with challenging behaviour is desirable for the role.
- The ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs.
This role is subject to the relevant Safeguarding checks, which will include an Enhanced DBS check, the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.
