We are now recruiting for a skilled Maintenance person to join our team here at Springcare. We believe that a good maintenance person enjoys making a difference to the lives of older people and prides themselves in providing a safe and well‑maintained environment for our residents to live in.

About the role:
A maintenance person’s day‑to‑day tasks can be extremely varied. One day you may be helping to build furniture, and another day carrying out routine checks around the home. Some of the daily tasks that a maintenance person would carry out include:
- Preventative maintenance and general building repair such as fixing broken locks, doors, and other loose fittings.
- Carrying out routine checks on equipment and services such as fire alarms, extinguishers, fire doors, and updating the home’s maintenance books.
- Minor plumbing and carpentry.
- Painting and decorating.
- Keeping the exterior of the homes clean, tidy, and free from trip hazards.
- Changing light bulbs and keeping stocked items such as bulbs, batteries, and other equipment.
- Before a weekend/bank holiday, ensuring lights, equipment, heating, and other items such as batteries are all working.
- Providing meter readings for utilities and boilers.
To be successful in the role of maintenance person, our ideal candidate would:
- Have good all‑round maintenance skills such as joinery, plumbing, and painting.
- Have experience within a similar environment or role.
- Show a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
- Be physically fit and able to lift lighter items of furniture or objects safely.
- Be able to maintain and use handheld tools safely (following any appropriate training).
- Be willing to attend any training that develops their skills and is relevant to the role.
- Hold a full driver’s licence.
