Bloomsbury’s award-winning audio team are looking for a new Audio Editor, passionate about the audio format, to help support the next phase of our growth. You’ll be responsible for the production of a wide selection of audiobook titles from Bloomsbury’s Academic and Professional lists, with opportunity to work broadly across our programme of publishing. You’ll have an eye for detail; ensuring your titles keep to budget and publish on time, without compromising on quality and creativity.

The Audio Editor will be responsible for the editorial delivery of audiobook titles across Bloomsbury’s Academic and Professional lists. This includes casting, liaising with authors and agents, and working closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality productions are delivered on time and within budget. Great at building relationships both internally and externally, you’ll be confident in negotiating with agents, attending studios and building a rapport with colleagues across the business. As part of a collaborative editorial team, you will contribute to the success of the wider audio list and uphold Bloomsbury’s creative standards in audio publishing.

  • A creative and passionate audio professional with a strong editorial judgement and understanding of audiobook production.
  • You will be confident managing multiple projects, building relationships, and contributing to a collaborative publishing environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building ability.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.

  • An understanding of the audio market and key trends.
  • Experience in academic publishing is desirable.

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position. Salary Range £30,500 – £35,800 depending on skills and experience. The location is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Tuesday and Thursday.
