About Bloomsbury Institute
Bloomsbury Institute is a higher education provider, regulated by the Office for Students, and we deliver undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Business, and Law. We also deliver postgraduate degrees in Accounting and Business and plan to introduce an LLM in English Legal Practice. We have redesigned all our degrees to have a more practice-based focus. We pride ourselves on providing students with access to a transformative higher education experience. We recruit students that have the potential, attitude and aspiration to succeed. This is key to us fulfilling our broader vision of offering students from all backgrounds the opportunity to define and pursue success through education.
We are currently looking for lecturers who can deliver a minimum of one (preferably two) modules on our undergraduate LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice. Ideally lecturers will have experience in delivering one or more of the following subjects: Civil Litigation, Business Law and Practice, Equity and Trusts and Public Law. Regular teaching work is expected from June of this year. There may also be additional work, related to teaching, that could be conducted remotely. We also welcome applications from practising lawyers who can contribute to the development of our Law Clinic. The Clinic was formally opened by Lord Neuberger in January 2022 and students advise members of the general public on a range of legal issues under the supervision of a solicitor or barrister. More recently, we launched a Mobile Advice Clinic.
The hourly teaching rate is £50 inclusive of holiday pay. The rate also includes the requirement for you to undertake some marking, directly related to your teaching, that could be conducted remotely.
About our Law Degree
Our LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice was redesigned in 2022 to meet the changes that have been made to how students qualify as a lawyer. Academic knowledge is brought to life. Throughout the course students will put that knowledge into real-life practice, providing them with a practice-based and vocational exposure. The degree has been validated by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and provides all graduates with full exemption from the academic stage of CILEx qualification. We are the only higher education provider to have this accreditation integrated into our LLB.
